Night of Beauties

XEVERA-MABALACAT  -  Night of Beauties.  The search for Miss Mabalacat 2010 is over, Miss Maolyn Yalung is Miss Mabalacat 2010 from Barangay Mabiga.  Maolyn is only 16 years of age on her third year in high school at Philippine Science High School in Angeles City.  She passed both college entrance examinations from La Salle University and the University of the Philippines. 

                At 5’7” in height, she towers all the candidates with vital stats of 34-24-36, she is beauty and brain.  She garnered most of the special awards, Miss Photogenic, Miss Talent, Miss Body Beautiful, Best in Casual Wear, Best in Long Gown, Best in Caragan Costume that made her win the most coveted crown Miss Mabalacat 2010. 

                Miss Personality is Jinky Ann Nicdao, MissFriendship is Dianne de Ocampo, Miss Telegenic is Jinky Ann Nicdao tied with Emma Mary Tiglao, while Best in Swim Wear is Maricel Gabalfin.

                The coronation night was so lovely that the moon shown so bright revealed the beauty of the candidates while showcasing their best on the stage.  The back-drops of the main stage were boxes of different sizes that look like buildings portraying Mabalacat in the near future as “Makati North of Manila” which the incumbent mayor oftentimes says.  On both sides of the main platform were stages of the same sizes with colorful circle designs depicting the night life in a city.  “The stage depicts Mabalacat as a progressive city in the next 5 years” said by Jun Magbalot, the chairman of Miss Mabalacat 2010 and Vice Chairman of the 2010 Fiesta Execom created by the Mayor Boking Morales through the issuance of Executive Order No. 001, series of 2010.

                An estimated 3 thousand in attendance witnessed the coronation of Miss Mabalacat – Maolyn Yalung who will represent the town in search for Mutya ning Kapampangan, Miss Caragan - Maricel Gabalfin, and Miss Sinukuan 2010 – Jinky Ann Nicdao.  The 2^nd Runner-up is April Ann Fernandez and the 1^st Runner-up is Emma Mary Tiglao.

                Judges of the night composed of TV and movie personalities such as Maricel Morales, Jao Mapa, Richard Quan, Dolly Ann Carvajal, well known hair stylist James Cooper and other personalities from different level of professions.

                Miss Mabalacat 2010 was choreographed by Engie Doblius as the talent scout.  “What makes me so happy is that my candidate reaped most of the special awards and I’m so proud because she won the most coveted crown, Miss Mabalacat.  However, this is just the beginning, we will now compete on the provincial level for the Mutya ning Kapampangan title” said by beauty titlist maker.

                               "This is the 2nd time Miss Mabalacat is held at Xevera-Mabalacat" according to the chairman of the beauty pageant, Jun Magbalaot.  "My concentration now after this affair will focus to the "Caragan Festival 2010" as he continued saying.

                             Cargan Fest is named after its first founder, Caragan.  He is an aeta chieftain who led his tribe in the rich balacat forrest and settled themselves within its plentiful resources.   The festival depicts the rich cultural heritage of the first settlers called "Negritos" or "Balugas" showcasing spectacular street dances, parade of unique floats designed with native aeta materials, costumes and ethnic dresses.
